Here's the conclusion of my list of selected February Anniversaries for Shirley Booth....

February 14, 1954 - Shirley is heard on ABC radio in My Most Unforgettable Child. This show offered her and other Hollywood luminaries the chance to assist the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF). Shirley and the other stars narrated true stories of children from throughout the world.

February 15, 1950 - Broadway opening of Come Back, Little Sheba, a two-act play produced by The Theatre Guild, directed by Daniel Mann, and written by William Inge (his first Broadway show), at the Booth Theatre.

February 16, 1960 - Shirley is seen on CBS television in The Garry Moore Show as herself.
February 16, 1946 - Shirley is heard on radio as guest star in the episode of Celebrity Club with Art Carney.

February 18, 1945 - Shirley is heard on radio in the Kate Smith Show. Shirley did a comedy routine and sang "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling."

February 20, 1953 - Shirley received a Western Union, dated 2:55 p.m., notifying her that she would be receiving the Golden Globe award. The notification is published in my biography of Shirley.

February 23, 1954 - By The Beautiful Sea, Shirley's third of five musicals on Broadway, previewed at Boston’s Shubert Theatre until March 13.

February 25, 1942 - This is the supposed last appearance of Shirley on Texaco Star Theater, starring Fred Allen. Shirley played the recurring character of Dottie Mahoney in an unknown number of the CBS broadcasts starting from October 1, 1941.

February 26, 1948 - Shirley is heard on CBS radio in Hallmark Reader’s Digest. The episode was called "The Woman Detective and the Stolen Jewels."

February 29, 1948 - Shirley is heard on radio in The Fred Allen Show.

As to composer Frédéric Chopin (1810 - 1849)...

Oftentimes we see the word "genius" used rather carelessly. But truly the term should be limited to individuals like Chopin.

I have always loved Chopin's beautiful Étude Opus 10, No. 3. It is exquisite and unforgettable! I could hear this melody over and over and never tire of it! Back in the 1970's, I first heard it played in Robert Youngson's famous silent film compilations, The Golden Age of Comedy (1957), When Comedy Was King, Days of Thrills and Laughter, etc..

mong the many renditions is this one, played so tenderly by Valentina Lisitsa (http://www.valentinalisitsa.com).
